Mask

This is the cooperative project that I worked with Joseph Liberty. The original purpose
is to design a tool for the character in the fiction: Running With Scissors. The process of
working with Joe is really interesting and joyful, and I’m quite sure that we had learned
a lot from each other.
The process is divided into three different levels. First, both of us brought our own
visual responses to the character in the fiction: Running With Scissors. Joe made the
expression hat; and I made a robot brother for the character. Then, because of the
similarity of our responses, Joseph and I are paired as a group. We brought another
revised visual response to the character which is combined our ideas together. We
made a giant auto-change expression hat for Augusten. At the third level, we got two
other responses from other two classmates, then we developed our visual response
based on the responses we got. So, the final project is the mask made from paper and
words.
The process of cooperating is quite helpful, Joe’s analysis and logistical skill really
impressed me. It’s also interesting that two times of team-work are quite different, first
time, it’s a little bit difficult for both of us; the second time, the process proceeded very
well.
