Jae Chul Bae wins 2008 Adobe Design Achievement Award

Adobe today announced the winners of the eighth annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards. Jae Chul Bae's Design Studio 1 project, Mapping Narrative: La Jetee + Twelve Monkeys took first place in the Non-Browser-based Design category.  read more »

Carolin Horn's Anymails Wins Red Dot Award

Carolin Horn's thesis project Anymails has received the Red Dot award in Communication Design for 2007. Anymails was also recently chosen as a finalist in the Interactive and Web Design category of the seventh annual Adobe Design Achievement Awards.

Symposium Class Explores Unconventional Approaches to Dynamic Media in Communication Design

DMI unveiled a new graduate course, Design Symposium, in Spring 2006. Students explored possible new uses of dynamic media in communication design while working with multiple resident and visiting faculty.  read more »

John Maeda: The Laws of Simplicity. Lecture and book signing.

DMI welcomed John Maeda, E. Rudge and Nancy Allen Professor of Media Arts & Sciences of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, for a lecture and book signing on September 26, 2006. A long time friend of DMI, John shared insight from his new book: The Laws of Simplicity: Design, Technology, Life.

John's lecture drew a large crowd of designers, students, and educators to MassArt's Tower Auditorium. After his lecture and book signing, John met with DMI's graduate students for an inspiring discussion of new media, life, and simplicity.  read more »
